John Chow Review

by Gregory Allen Butler

John Chow dot Com is a blog that helps you make money online. If you do a review of his blog, he’ll link to you so his readers can check you out. That sounds like a win-win situation to me, so read on.

He is not only helpful in how to be more web savvy, he is also ultra hip. He will invite you into his world with his restaurant reviews, website reviews, tips on how to drive traffic to your website, and how to make money without breaking a sweat.

If you have a blog that isn't making money, he will show you how to get it up to speed. He will show you what to do, how to do it, and why you should do it. He's very open with all of his strategies. He'll refer to himself as evil, but that's just because he is so focused on winning at any cost. I would maybe call him tricky, but not evil. He has a good heart that comes through in his writing.

He will be the first to tell you that you have to update your blog everyday. He never lets a day go by without posting. A few days ago he wrote about a neat feature on Wordpress called Timestamp. It's a utility that allows you to write a backlog of blogs and set a time and date for the posts to go live. If you ever wanted to take a vacation and leave your compute at home without losing your blog audience, then this is the key.

If you want to keep up with the latest innovations in blogging, just read his site. He'll keep you up to speed.

Here is another example of how he is helpful. Recently he wrote a post entitled, Before You Send Out That News Release. It's a guide to how to send out a news release, and even more specifically, how to and how not to send a news release to him. He even gives examples of the wrong way and the right way. Follow his advice and you should get a hefty increase in traffic to your blog.

Speaking of traffic, in classic John Chow style, this week he also had an entry entitled, Evil Way to Increase RSS Subscriptions. He also had previous to this his normal way, entitled, How to Increase RSS Subscriptions. His site has 4287 people subscribing to his RSS feed. He says it's good to be good, but it's better to be evil. Who's he kidding. He's not evil, he's a goddamned genius! Read the post and you'll see what I mean. If nothing else, you will get a list of 130 ad networks. A little diversification never hurt anybody. And that's another John Chow tip.

John Chow dot com may not be for everybody, but if you in need of advice on how to make money online, on how to diversify your revenue sources, on technology, on search engine optimization, and at the same time delve into John Chow's world of exotic cars, food, and beautiful women, then make it a point to visit his site everyday. It's always full of fresh content, and that in itself is refreshing.
