Attractor Energy Patterns

by Gregory Allen Butler

Attractor energy patterns are why alcoholics prone to staying in the state of alcoholism. And that's why people stay in relationships that are painful and difficult. And also why some people go through their entire life complaining how unfair life is. But it is also how some people detach from all the allurements of the world and raise their consciousness so that they can experience elevated states of joy and bliss.

Every experience in life has an energy component. The alcoholic has his experience, as does the scientist, the dancer, the athlete and the person working behind the counter at McDonald's.

These energy components are like vortices because it hard to move out of the energy's grip. Sort of like a planet's gravitational field.

According to Dr. David R. Hawkins, author of Power vs. Force, there is a continuum of energy fields in the human condition. Through 20 plus years of kinesiology testing (over a million tests worldwide) he was able to map the continuum of human consciousness, ranging from the low end of the spectrum with shame-which measures at 20 on his logarithmic scale, all the way to the top of the spectrum-divine grace or infinite consciousness- which calibrates at 1000-depicting the energy of the Avatar-the world's great awakeners such as Jesus, Buddha, and Krishna.

So how does one advance from a lower level, such as shame, to a higher level of courage, or love? Hawkins' research shows that it is extremely rare for a person to make much progress in a lifetime. If a person is born at a level of 175, then that person will stay at or very near that level over the entire course of life. But there are exceptions, and how those exceptional people accomplish this is the focus of this article.

The principle that makes it rare for someone to climb to a higher energy state is like attracts like. If someone has an energy calibration of a certain frequency, then that is the type of experiences and events that they attract to him or her. An example that comes to mind is someone who calibrates at the level of 175-which typifies pride-would be attracted to the U.S. Marines, which also calibrate at 175.

The person who calibrates at a much lower level might be drafted into the Marines, but that is the type that will end up with the dishonorable discharge, if the lower energy attraction is too strong to break free of.

Everything has energy. Music, books, words, food, drugs, alcohol, and principles such as freedom, oneness, courage, have their corresponding effect. You always have a choice. Do you want to be conscious or unaware? Do you want to be unifying or dividing? This is not a time for dogmatism, but it is a time for authority-the authority that comes from presence.

A person at a higher level, such as joy, which calibrates at 540, would not be attracted to the type of music that calibrates at 100.

A poet who calibrates at a level of 540, the level of joy, would not be attracted to words that calibrate at the lower levels.

When a person "discovers" or has insight into a new facet of life at a much higher level than he is accustomed to, it is possible to make significant progress, but the lower energy patterns have to be relinquished for the higher. A person can be inspired while being in the presence of someone of a much higher energy calibration, but the inspiration will not be lasting.

It takes time for a person to become attuned to a higher energy vibration.
A person can be inspired by reading a spiritually charged book, such as the Gospels of the New Testament or the Bhagavad Gita, but the inspiration will not be lasting if the lower attractor patterns pull the inspired person back down to the lower energy levels. A new life has to replace the old life.

I once had a dream in which a spiritual master, Meher Baba, was holding a tuning fork, vibrating and creating a pure, beautiful sound. He said that was his vibration and that it was my job to become that same vibration. I asked how and he said "by remembering me constantly." That is the principle being discussed here.

The key to progress is to choose the higher attractor patterns over the lower ones. That is how the 12 step programs, such as AA, have succeeded in helping people, along with their higher power, to get beyond the grip of the addiction.

When the person suffering an addiction discovers a purpose in life transcending the requirements of the physical body, and that becomes the central focus of consciousness, then progress happens. Spirituality becomes a genuine life-long endeavor.

A person could spend 40 years focused on politics or sports and be addicted to the energy of those worlds (the gravitational fields of those worlds) and not have a clue that there was an addiction. But an addiction is something that you cannot stop. So if you cannot stop watching television, or reading the gossip columns, or watching ESPN, then the energy calibration of that "past time" is preventing your consciousness from rising to a higher level of perception.

Hawkins tells us "Kinesiological testing showed that a fairly typical TV show caused test subjects to go weak 113 times during a single episode. Each of these weakening events suppressed the observer's immune system and reflected an insult to the viewer's central as well as autonomic nervous system." He goes on to say that each negative input brought the viewer closer to eventual sickness and imminent depression-which is now the world's most prevalent illness.

"But that is what everyone does," you might say. True. And yet 85 percent of humanity is living at a substandard vibration, not conducive to growth. It is almost a society-wide brainwash. And the tragedy of it is that we, as a society, are so convinced that this is the best life has to offer. As Hawkins states in his book, "truth is whatever is subjectively convincing at one's current level of perception. At the lower levels of consciousness, propositions are accepted as true even when they're illogical, unfounded, and express tenets neither intellectually provable nor practically demonstrable."

To get out of the clutches of the "seemingly important" but ultimately destructive aspects of life, and the familiarity of its energy and addictive qualities, you need to consistently choose the principles and sources of the higher over the lower.

An alcoholic doesn't reach sobriety by sometimes taking a drink and sometimes not. He does it by relying on his higher power and choosing consciously and constantly that which raises his level of energy rather than that which diminishes it--that which strengthens rather than that which weakens. That is how one moves out of grip of low attractor energy patternsand into the influence of a higher ones. It's like moving into another planet's gravitational field.

Negative thoughts and emotions are enough to have the old energy patterns reemerge. You might seem justified to feel angry or depressed but it serves no purpose and is counter-productive.

You might be angry or depressed about something because that is how everyone else reacts to similar situations. But remember, the vast majority of the world's population is at a destructive level of energy and consciousness.

The vast majority of people have no inkling that higher conscious states are possible, states where the perception of oneness pervades everything, where joy and divine love are constant companions, where bliss is the normal state of being, not some drug induced high.

It is hard to keep the inner focus on the higher values that are beyond the desires of the physical body, that uplift, that inspire. In my life, despite having many life-altering spiritual experiences, I found myself dragged down again and again by the "real world" of news.

For eight years, I worked at the Los Angeles Times, talking with newspaper editors everyday from coast to coast, discussing the news. My job was to sell news stories to other papers. I had to make it seem even more alluring than it really was. News has a sense of allurement. It seems so very important, but it more often than not takes us away from that which is important. The world of wholeness, peace, oneness and consciousness is usurped by the world of fragmentation, scarcity, and fear. (By the way, when is the last time you read a story in a major newspaper about wholeness and oneness or consciousness?) We don't read about how many people are hugged in a day; we read about how many are stabbed or shot.

The focus on crime, war, and violence only leads to more crime, war, and violence. Like attracts like.

As the Buddha said, hatred never ends hatred. Only love ends hatred.

Darkness can never end darkness. So add some light to the world. Don't be a victim of news, or anything else. As Gandhi said, be the change that you want to bring about. Be in that group of 15 percent that counterbalances the 85 percent. That will give your life meaning, and that in turn is enough to lift your spirits even higher into an ever-upward spiral of light.
