Abundance -- A Question of Attraction
by Gregory Allen Butler
Energy is the foundation of abundance. Positive energy increases it, negative energy decreases it. When we can get free of all the negative, hurtful, limiting, and binding energy inside us, we can become attractors of positive energy.
When we are able to smile, we get smiles back. When we are no longer afraid to talk to people, people talk to us. Life starts to work. Vibrations are accelerated.
This entire universe is created from vibration. Even a rock, as solid as it seems, is a whirling mass of energy. Quantum physics will show you that it isn't even solid. It is energy--but a very slow, dense, moving energy.
Our thoughts are energy. It is important to have positive, high-energy thoughts. That is what will attract abundance into your life.
I heard a former boss of mine once say that sometimes circumstances in life might cause him to be broke. But he would never be poor.
To be broke, he said, is to experience a temporary financial condition. To be poor is a frame of mind. He definitely was not poor. And for the record, he was also far from broke. It reminds me of Emerson's statement that we are not our circumstance.
On the other hand, if I had a million dollars but couldn't get it out of my mind that I needed ten million, then I wouldn't be broke, but I would be poor, because I would be focused on what I didn't have. That is scarcity thinking.
It would also keep me trapped in my mind, and in the future. I would be missing the essence of life and all of nature's wonder. I wouldn't be able to experience joy and peace. I would not be happy until I had the ten million. And if I didn't get it, I would feel disappointment and failure.
A key component of utilizing attractor energy patterns is that you cannot come from a sense of lack. You approach it with gratitude for what you do have. And you express gratitude for that which you intend to manifest in your life as if you have already received it.
It's a done deal, as far as you are concerned. It's the same as when you buy something with a credit card over the telephone. Even though you haven't received the item you have purchased, you know that you have it. It is on its way. You are in a state of gratitude.
Never put your energies against something. If you are for peace, don't fight against war. That gives war more energy. March for peace.
Mother Theresa knew that. She was once invited to an anti-war rally. She said she wasn't interested in being against anything. But if there were a rally for peace, she would come. Her mind was tuned to abundance.
The emotions of the experience you want are vital. If you want to own a new home, feel the experience of living in that home. In your mind, experience the space of the house, the light, the texture of the walls, the expansiveness of the rooms.
Internally, live as if you already live there. If you want to attract romance into your life, imagine your new partner whispering sweet words into your ears, feel the touch of hands. Feel your inner experience of contentment having this person in your life. Be thankful.
This is creative living. If you know what you want, know that it is already given. Be thankful.
If your life is not one of abundance, you are attracting a state other than abundance into your life. You might not be aware of it, but it came to you like metal drawn to a magnet.
Again, if we find our self in a situation that was created by unconsciousness, then we need consciousness to turn it around. Start experiencing your life as consciousness. It's what we are.
It is that which extends beyond our bodies, that continues to exist after our physical forms are no more. It is what gives us joy, peace, bliss, and fulfillment. And when we get that right, everything else falls into place. There is no more scarcity.
Abundance is not an issue for the whole person. It is a major issue for the fragmented person. To be fragmented means to be cut off from the whole, and feel limited, and very needy. Let's look at once again my favorite metaphor, the drop and the ocean.
A drop is nothing but limitation. Vulnerable, finite, mortal, and powerless. If you were to visualize yourself as a drop, you could easily justify your feelings of neediness. Life would seem very harsh. A drop is an example of fragmentation.
However, if you realize that that is not the case at all, and that you are part of the ocean, then your perception is totally different. You are no longer finite. You are infinite. What could an ocean ever lack? It is the embodiment of abundance.
So the sense of lack comes from viewing ourselves incorrectly. When we learn to view our self as infinite and one with everything, then we experience wholeness and abundance.
